Dr. Lorna Grant, MD, board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist, is seeking a compassionate, skilled Optometrist (OD) to join her established private practice, CNY Eye Physicians & Surgeons in New Hartford, NY.
About the Practice
Dr. Grant has been serving the Central New York community for over 10 years. Her practice is deeply patient-centered — caring for neighbors, families, and generations of patients with warmth and respect. The clinic offers full-scope medical optometry and ophthalmology services with a strong emphasis on continuity of care and clinical excellence.
You’ll work alongside a well-respected doctor of optometry who is known for his excellent clinical judgment, calm demeanor, and patient-first approach. The practice values teamwork, integrity, and long-term relationships — both with patients and within the team.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an Optometrist who is:
- Patient-driven, kind, and personable — someone who genuinely cares about people.
- Flexible and adaptable with strong clinical judgment.
- Interested in a long-term fit in a family-friendly community.
- Open to mentorship (new graduates encouraged to apply).
- Skilled or interested in dry eye management (a plus).
Position Details
- Medical Optometry (no onsite optical)
- Patient Volume: Start at 10–15 patients/day, ramp up over one year
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:30 PM (last patient at 3:30)
- No evenings or weekends
- Call: Practice-only
- Compensation: Base salary of $175,000 + 20% of collections after 2× salary

About Dr. Lorna Grant
Dr. Grant is a fellowship-trained retina specialist and cataract surgeon who completed her medical education and training at the University of Vermont, University of Arizona, and University of Iowa. She is a member of multiple national and state ophthalmologic societies, has served as President of the Utica Medical Club, and sits on the Griffiss Surgery Center Board.
Originally from Cambridge, NY, Dr. Grant and her husband are raising their three young children in Deansboro. She loves hiking, triathlons, and baking — and she brings that same energy and care to her practice every day.
