Comprehensive / General Ophthalmologist (Glaucoma a Plus) Wanted for Partnership with Michigan Group Practice
There are still great opportunities in the United States where an ophthalmologist can own and have a great family life. This is one of those opportunities.
A respected, very busy Michigan ophthalmology practice is recruiting a personable, skilled ophthalmologist to meet their current and future patient demands. This 2 MD, 2 OD group practice is busy and backlogged. The practice sees over 10,000 patients annually and performs nearly 1,000 surgical procedures each year. The vast majority of these surgeries are: cataracts, blephs, ptosis, and some Glaucoma work. The need is legitimate and growing. This is wonderful news for the prospective associate as he or she will inherit a turn-key practice with a 25 year old legacy of quality care. This is a wonderful opportunity with good people.
This wonderful practice employs 18 patient-centered staff members who add love and levity to the office environment. They work hard to help provide the best eye care possible. Five of these team members are well-trained scribes. All of the staff love their work and helping their patients. Personnel turnover is very low and the happiness quotient is high which grants a family-like camaraderie in the office. They are quality people and happy care givers. The doctors, like staff genuinely care about patients and have been recognized locally and nationally for their eye care relief efforts in the community and overseas.
The incoming ophthalmologist will be busy immediately with a daily patient encounter volume of 25-30+ and a surgical volume of approximately 300 – 400+ procedures in the first year. The office is an attractive brick building in a high visibility area. Surgeries are performed at the local hospital which is conveniently located 1 block from the office. The hospital staff is experienced, well-trained and great to work with. This is the only ophthalmology practice in a 50 mile radius, which translates to a stable, thriving practice and substantiates the recruitment need.
The practice is located in a public university town with a student population of 14,000. The university adds a lot to the community; great education and entertainment. It has a very reputable college of pharmacy and optometry and an NCAA Division I hockey team. The entire draw area for the practice is comprised of 5 counties and includes a total population of 80K+.
This community gives your family a lot to see and do. You’ll love the region for its blend of the arts, an abundance of outdoor and recreational activities, and a true 4 seasons environment. An annual world-renowned art fair, top entertainment performers and concerts, plays and symphonies are an hour away. The river running through town and the national forest a few miles away provide plenty of camping, hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, and hunting opportunities. This is a fantastic place to get out and get active! Your children will love the fact that you are a short drive from the largest amusement park in Michigan!
Excellent compensation, great perks and incentives and a wonderful benefits plan will be offered. An accelerated partnership option will be offered once long-term suitability is mutually agreed upon.
Your career is important and so is your family. If your desire is to work in a small, collegial practice in an area with no competition and an outstanding quality of life for your entire family, please let us know.
